BSCMR YIA 2020

BSCMR 2020
ACC – Liverpool
October 12th – 13th

The BSCMR is eager to encourage young researchers working on all aspects of research related to CMR.

As part of this initiative, the Society will host its Young Investigators Session on 13th October 2020 as part of the 15th BSCMR Annual Meeting to be held at the ACC Liverpool, an outstanding conference venue on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront.

Young researchers are invited to submit a short (350 word) abstract of their research.  Clinicians studying for postgraduate qualifications (MD, PhD, or equivalent) are encouraged to take part and researchers with up to two year’s postdoctoral experience are also eligible. Abstracts covering all areas of research related to CMR, including work at an early stage, will be considered.

The authors of the FOUR best abstracts will be invited to give an oral presentation at the 15th Annual Meeting of the Society and a prize for finishing 1st, 2nd and 3rd will be awarded.

–  Final date for submission of abstracts – 31st July 2020 @ 5pm

– Young Investigators will be notified of the result of the review by 14th August 2020

– Abstract submission and abstract publication in Heart

The BSCMR invite submissions of abstracts for the meeting. Please follow the instructions below.  Authors whose abstract has not been accepted for oral presentation (for the CMR Young Investigators’ Award [see below for details]) will be invited to display a poster at the meeting (posters need to be portrait format, maximum width 850 mm x height 1500 mm). Please note that we are not able to accommodate posters that do not fit these measurements.

This year we will publish the abstracts in Heart. Please indicate on the registration form if you do not wish your abstract to be published in Heart.

CMR Young Investigators’ Award

Four of the abstracts submitted to the meeting will be chosen by the BSCMR Board to be put forward for the CMR Young Investigators’ Award. Authors of the selected abstracts will be invited to present their abstract at the meeting during the afternoon session; the winner of the Award will be announced at the end of the day.

The abstracts must be CMR related and case reports will not be accepted. Please indicate on the registration form if you would like your abstract to be considered for the CMR Young Investigators’ Award.
